I really do think about food all of the time. I am by no means a connoisseur, but maybe I will be someday. I will try pretty much anything edible (though by my age I’ve tried yogurt enough times to know I just ain’t gonna like it).
I grew up with a mother who loved to cook and who loved to have help in the kitchen, so I learned a lot. I can remember being 5, maybe 6, years old and being told to “taste the sauce and tell me what it needs.”
So, yeah, from an early age I’ve cared about eating: about what I eat, where and when I eat, who I eat with, and so on and so forth. I do cook, and I never feel like I have enough time to read recipes and make menus and buy groceries.
Other factors that contribute to my having a blog: I have an English degree that isn’t put to use in my project management job, I was born in New Orleans (a food sanctuary by any standard), and I spent three and a half years of my career reading recipes for a cookbook publisher.
My culinary heroes are Julia Child and Anthony Bourdain.
My hero-hero is my mom.
My non-mom hero is Steve Wiebe.
So, I am trolling the web looking for reviews on Agave and lo and behold there you are! We are headed there for Esperanza’s party.
Very nice.
Take care.
I had no idea you had a blog. Exciting!
I’m with you on Bourdain.
